The laboratory is composed of three sections: mortar, concrete and asphalt mixes, respectively. The mortar and concrete section is dedicated to the study the mechanical and rheological properties under different conditions of testing. Rheological properties of mortar and concrete can be determined by rheometer apparatus and others conventional tests methods. Shrinkage, creep, elastic modulus, compressive and flexure are the current tests performed in this laboratory. A wheel tracker for measuring the resistance to rutting of asphalt materials and a Pneumatic Asphalt Testing System are available in asphalt section. The laboratory also possess a grinding system to reduce and transform the waste materials and climate chambers to simulate various temperatures and humidity conditions for special environment tests of mortars, concrete and asphalt elements.
